However, working at McDonalds as a manager (assuming you qualify as a grad) can be spun. Heck, working as a cashier can simply be left off the resume if needed and volunteer activities listed. I think part of the point is actually putting in time towards a goal and not letting any support make it too comfortable to get motivated and do something.

I have seen some good post about utilizing free work to your advantage, and not even in the path of internships.

Anyway, there are many choices, unfortunately not always clear. Coming right out of college unfortunately means people usually don't have a financial buffer to draw against unless said buffer is their family.Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05154781460859144888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5312021115968075701.post-54576492102793793032010-06-09T08:17:12.338-07:002010-06-09T08:17:12.338-07:00Dear Blogger,

It seems these questions are even more difficult to answer with the far from advantageous job market, when conventional wisdom seems to tell us that we should just be happy to have ANY job, which is true - but where do we draw the line? I will agree that social/family support can make a world of difference when the questions become overwhelming, and the answers overwhelmingly elusive.Karinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03262679751003706496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5312021115968075701.post-70897560556128626322010-03-28T23:20:19.357-07:002010-03-28T23:20:19.357-07:00The rules?! Whatever that means.

I asked MANY of the same questions you've asked above for the past decade. What is too much to ask. What should I put up with? What are the limits? It's so hard to know. And I certainly don't have the answers, but I can say this...looking back..it's all about keeping a strong circle around you. Those who listen, who give advice, who are willing to call you out and put you in check. That's what you need. Friends and family to be yourself, even when the world seems like it's changing all around you every day.

And keep writing. Something in THAT makes it all a little easier to bear too.Sloanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08649113902707170330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5312021115968075701.post-85478133308056603862010-03-15T21:19:29.213-07:002010-03-15T21:19:29.213-07:00I support you!
